This was an engaging storyline with interesting characters. I have not read book 1 but I did not have any problems reading this as a stand alone. ( however, I will be going back to read book 1) I thought the story was well written, flowed along at an easy pace and most of my questions were answered by the end of the book.
Niki Driscoll 4.0 out of 5 stars Engaging storyline with interesting characters
This book was so easy to become immersed in. The characters are well thought out and fully developed, drawing me into the story. Maria is so strong and fearless (on the outside). Derrick is a perfect alpha. The Chief of Police is a redneck, good-ole-boy that has an agenda when it comes to the pack. I love the way Maria finally put him in his place. Betrayal by her family really shows how strong Maria is. There is so much I could say about this, but it would spoil some of the twists and I won’t do that. This is a TERRIFIC book and I’m chomping at the bit for the next one.
Sunnyles VINE VOICE 5.0 out of 5 stars OMG!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK.
Anger, no rage, coursed under Derrick’s flesh as he bumped into Hugo, the Chief of Police. A low growl left Derrick’s chest before he managed to hold it in. Hugo narrowed his eyes but didn’t dare meet Derrick’s gaze. Derrick clenched his fists at his side, showing how he itched for a fight.
“The Mayor will see you now.” Maria’s secretary, Kate’s soft voice met the pair. Hugo lifted his nose and walked away from Derrick. For a moment, he stood there, his wolf wanted out and to be next to Maria. His wolf also wanted to rip Hugo to pieces and show Maria his strength.
“Can I get you something?” Kate stared at his chest.
“When will Maria leave today?”
“We close at five, Sir.” Kate glanced at her desk then back at his chest. “Thank you.” Derrick turned and walked out of the building. He had until then to figure out a way to convince Maria they should complete the bond. Three fucking days! If she doesn’t complete the bond I’ll lose everything.
